About the Role: Substitute Teacher - Easy Enrollment
We're on the lookout for a dedicated and versatile Substitute Teacher to join our community of educators. This role offers the flexibility to work on your own schedule, with opportunities for both day-to-day and long-term assignments. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll not only gain hands-on teaching experience but also be supported every step of the way through our comprehensive resources and personalized consultant support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, adapting to the needs of the students and the curriculum.
- Manage classroom environments to ensure they remain conducive to learning, employing trauma-informed teaching practices and effective classroom management techniques.
- Engage with students, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages academic achievement and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, including providing feedback on student progress and any challenges encountered during the assignment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, leveraging our free online training resources to enhance your teaching skills and stay updated on best practices.
Essential Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits.
- Three professional references, with one being from a previous direct supervisor.
- Ability to undergo a background check (cost reimbursed by Scoot Education).
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to putting students first.
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to excel in your role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience, particularly in specialized areas such as Special Education, Math, Science, STEM, English, ELA, History, Social Studies, PE, Music, Art, Drama, or Theater Studies.
- Experience working with diverse age groups, including Kinder, Early Years, Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, and High School students.
- Knowledge of IEP requirements and experience working with students with diverse needs.
