We're now seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Teaneck, NJ. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, aligned with the school's curriculum and teaching style
- Manage classroom behavior, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students, ensuring a collaborative approach to education
- Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant, discussing school feedback and developing your teaching skills
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development, enhancing your teaching practices and staying up-to-date on best practices
Essential Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- NJ Substitute Credential
- Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
- Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and putting students first

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience
- Special education or paraprofessional experience
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies
