Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled Lead Performance Engineer to lead our performance engineering efforts and drive the development of performance testing strategies. As a Lead Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for leading performance testing efforts for EDI systems, web (HTTP/HTML), and web services/APIs. You will conduct bottleneck analysis, capacity management, and tuning to ensure optimal system performance. You will also oversee the setup and configuration of testing environments for performance evaluations and implement performance testing frameworks, strategies, and tools to optimize test suites and ensure test effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Performance Testing & Analysis: Lead performance testing efforts for EDI systems, web (HTTP/HTML), and web services/APIs. Conduct bottleneck analysis, capacity management, and tuning to ensure optimal system performance.
- Tool Expertise: Proficient in performance testing tools (JMeter, Neoload, or LoadRunner) and monitoring tools (App Dynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic). Develop and maintain expertise in these tools to ensure effective performance testing.
- Test Process & Methodology: Implement performance testing frameworks, strategies, and tools to optimize test suites and ensure test effectiveness. Develop and maintain performance testing methodologies to ensure consistency and quality.
- Test Environment Setup: Oversee setup and configuration of testing environments for performance evaluations. Ensure that testing environments are properly configured and equipped to support performance testing.
- Programming & Scripting: Utilize basic programming and logic skills for test automation, parameterization, and correlation. Develop and maintain scripts to support performance testing efforts.
- DevOps & Cloud Testing: Apply DevOps practices and cloud-based performance testing techniques to ensure seamless integration and delivery. Develop and maintain cloud-based performance testing strategies to support business objectives.
- Open Source Tools & Virtualization: Implement open source tool stacks, service virtualization, and network virtualization as part of testing. Develop and maintain expertise in these areas to ensure effective performance testing.
- SLA & Service Quality: Ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with SLAs. Develop and maintain metrics to measure service quality and SLA compliance.
- Reporting & KPIs: Produce and maintain performance testing reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Develop and maintain dashboards to track performance testing metrics and KPIs.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience: 10+ years in performance testing with expertise in performance engineering, testing, and bottleneck analysis.
- Skills: Proficiency in performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Neo load, LoadRunner) and monitoring tools (e.g., App Dynamics, Dynatrace).
- Technical Skills: Experience with programming languages, DevOps integration, cloud performance testing, and open source tools.
- Additional Knowledge: Familiarity with licensing of performance testing and monitoring tools.

- Experience with cloud-based performance testing: Experience with cloud-based performance testing tools and techniques.
