Key Responsibilities:

Prepare engaging and effective lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, using a range of teaching methods and materials to promote student learning and understanding

Communicate with TEACH office staff and parents/guardians to coordinate tutoring lessons, provide progress updates, and ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed

Participate in professional development opportunities to improve tutoring practice, stay up-to-date with the latest developments in test preparation, and connect with inspiring educators from around the greater Philadelphia area

Submit time-sensitive information using our database and other online documentation, maintaining accurate and detailed records of student progress and lesson plans

Essential Qualifications:

1+ years of experience teaching in a classroom setting, with a strong track record of promoting student learning and achievement

A bachelor's degree from an accredited university, with a major in a relevant subject area (e.g., Mathematics, English, Education)

Willingness to learn SAT and ACT test preparation materials and methods, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and growth

Availability to travel locally in the Greater Philadelphia and Camden areas for in-person lessons, with a reliable means of transportation and a flexible schedule

Ability to complete federal and PA state background checks and clearances, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience teaching or tutoring SAT and/or ACT test preparation, with a strong understanding of test formats, content, and scoring methods

2 or more years of experience tutoring or teaching in a classroom setting, with a proven track record of promoting student learning and achievement

Understanding of student-centered and culturally responsive learning practices, with a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
