About the Role
We're looking for a skilled Inpatient Medical Coder to review medical records, assign accurate codes, and maintain high productivity standards. If you have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for medical terminology, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures
- Assign and sequence codes accurately based on medical record documentation
- Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistical and reporting requirements
- Communicate documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues to personnel
- Maintain high coding accuracy rates and productivity standards
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient coding facility experience
- CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Associate or Bachelor's degree from an AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing Program (optional)
- Experience in computerized encoding and abstracting software (optional)
