Job Overview and Responsibilities
As a Service Supervisor, Front of House, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians, ensuring seamless service operations, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing effective supervision and coaching to assigned technical employees to achieve quality and service output goals
- Maintaining accurate shop records and inventories
- Managing the smooth flow of work through the service center
- Serving as the process leader for shop activities, ensuring work standards are defined and improved with input from service technicians and the rest of the service center team
- Leading, coaching, and developing a highly engaged team of technicians
- Partnering with the Service Manager and other key stakeholders to establish targets for quality, speed, and cost in line with customer and business needs
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and the service center's safety program
- Resolving technical and personnel problems
- Scheduling employees to meet service needs and ensuring vacation and other time off consistent with company policies
- Conducting regularly scheduled one-on-one developmental meetings with team members to facilitate their professional development
- Monitoring training needs and coordinating training as required in partnership with training team resources
- Providing effective daily communication to keep all team members working toward the same goals
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
- Prior leadership experience in a service-focused industry preferred
- Automotive expertise not required, but a strong understanding of service operations and team management is essential
- Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality and quantity
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities, establish and achieve goals
- Ability to lead group root cause problem-solving activities and rapidly develop countermeasures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- One to three years of industrial supervisory or similar leadership experience preferred
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekday and weekend overtime
- Good computer skills, with experience in Microsoft Office a must
