Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Remote Accountant to handle payroll processing, sales tax returns, and other accounting responsibilities. As a seasoned accountant, you will be responsible for managing multiple tasks, prioritizing deadlines, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with our customers and team members to provide timely and accurate financial solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payrolls for customers on a weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly basis
- Prepare and process multiple payrolls, including data entry for new hires and terminations
- Research and resolve employee payroll inquiries and issues
- Assist with sales tax returns, including checking income records, reconciling income with tax charges, and submitting tax returns
- Analyze complex financial reports and data, performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations
- Prepare financial reports and perform account reconciliations
- Record daily transactions in an accounting system, including purchases and sales transactions
- Maintain accurate accounts payable records and ensure timely payment of invoices
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to phone calls and customer inquiries as needed
Essential Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience working in a bookkeeping or accounting firm
- Strong experience in processing payroll and sales tax returns
- Proficiency in tools like Google Workspace, QBO, Gusto, and other CRM systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
