About the Role
We are looking for an experienced professional to join us as an Examiner for the Level 1/2 Technical Award in Health and Fitness. As an Examiner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our assessments, working closely with our team to maintain the highest standards of education. This is a flexible worker contract, allowing you to choose how to fit your work around your other personal and professional commitments. You will receive full training and support to ensure your success in this role, including access to our systems, tools, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Marking external assessments as required and submitting results using our systems within set timescales, ensuring accuracy and consistency in your work
- Following and maintaining the standard set by the Chief Examiner, applying the mark scheme consistently and accurately to ensure fairness and reliability
- Reporting suspected malpractice or safeguarding concerns to the Assessment Delivery team, upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethics
- Attending examiner standardisation and training events, and other meetings as required, to stay up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in education
- Maintaining the confidentiality of NCFE assessment materials, learner evidence, and learner details, and reporting any breaches to the Assessment Delivery team, ensuring the security and integrity of our assessments
Essential Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following essential qualifications and experience:
- A professional qualification (at Level 4 or above) relating to the health and fitness sector, such as a degree in sports science, exercise physiology, or a related field
- Current or recent teaching experience, or relevant industry experience in the health and fitness sector, with a strong understanding of effective quality assurance mechanisms
- An understanding of effective quality assurance mechanisms, with experience of working in a quality-focused environment
- The ability to work consistently within tight deadlines, with excellent time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
In addition to the essential qualifications and experience, we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following preferred qualifications and experience:
- Experience of working as an examiner or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of assessment principles and practices
- A postgraduate qualification (at Level 7 or above) relating to the health and fitness sector, such as a master's degree in sports science or exercise physiology
- Experience of working in a remote or flexible working environment, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
