The California Franchise Tax Board is seeking a Software Application Developer to work as a technical specialist responsible for designing, programming, configuring, testing, and supporting complex IT solutions. The role involves maintaining collaborative relationships with teams and stakeholders to improve system efficiency and ensuring effective integration with compliance systems. Responsibilities - Designing, programming, configuring, testing, and supporting complex IT solutions for Franchise Tax Board's compliance systems - Providing consulting services to application and infrastructure teams to ensure efficient integration with compliance systems - Troubleshooting software issues and implementing preventative measures - Maintaining collaborative relationships with teammates, management, vendors, and stakeholders Skills - Experience Developing and Maintaining applications built and running on a Pega platform, using tools such as Pega App Studio, Pega Dev Studio, and Pega Diagnostic Center (PDC) - Experience developing in a Case Management, Business Processing Management (BPM), or Low Code platform such as Pega, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Power Apps, etc - Knowledge of Franchise Tax Board (FTB) Case Management or Legacy Compliance applications (Audit, Collections) as part of a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) team - Experience as a Software Developer using Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and programming languages such as Java, C#, C++, .NET, Python, XML - Experience working in Relational Databases and writing Structured Query Language (SQL) queries - Experience using version/source control tools such as GIT, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, Mercurial, CVS, etc - Experience supporting a large, complex application in a professional production environment - Experience and understanding of using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently, and to prioritize and manage work to meet critical timelines in a fast-paced environment Company Overview - The Franchise Tax Board is responsible for administering two of California's major tax programs: personal income tax and corporation tax.
