About Walmart and the Role

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be an integral part of this team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Analytics - Outbound Transportation. You will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, developing dashboards, and providing strategic recommendations to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Transformation and Integration:
- Extract data from various databases and create data pipelines to transform data into relevant structures.
- Analyze complex data elements, systems, and relationships to develop conceptual, physical, and logical data models.
- Design efficient data flows and propose solutions to data-related system integration challenges.
- Data Analysis and Visualization:
- Perform analysis using SQL, Python, and other tools to address business problems and visualize findings on dashboards (Tableau/PowerBI/Looker).
- Automate dashboards and develop control towers to root cause trends in KPIs.
- Business Partnerships:
- Prepare executive presentations to communicate strategic recommendations to management based on research and data analysis.
- Review findings based on feedback from partners and provide insights tailored to the audience.
- Model Development:
- Build and manage parts of algorithmic products/models, ensuring alignment with overall product goals.
- Verify findings using existing Walmart tools and run simulations to test hypotheses.
- Proof of Concept and Prototype:
- Generate new ideas through research and apply knowledge to contribute to proof-of-concepts for projects.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with associates from the team and work cross-functionally with managers and specialists as needed.
- Project Scope:
- Own small projects end-to-end to support business areas or categories.
- Own a defined part of a product, ensuring it works and functions, and identify new information to feed back to the product owner.
Essential Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance, or a related field, and 2 years of experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or a related field.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or a related field.
- Technical skills in Python, SQL, GCP, PowerBI, Tableau, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
To stand out as a candidate, you should have:
- A Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in data modeling, data migration protocols, GCP, data warehousing, and BI.
- Experience with integration tools like Automic, Airflow.
- Experience in building highly scalable Big Data solutions and ETL ecosystems.
- Proficiency in Hadoop, Spark, Cloud, Python/PySpark, Java, Streaming, Kafka, and Backend technologies.
- A proven track record of coding with at least one programming language (e.g., Scala, Python).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure).

Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $155,000. Additionally, you will be eligible for:
