Job Title: Remote Senior Software Engineer (100% Work From Home)
Location: Remote from Latin America
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: $4,000 USD/month + performance based yearly bonus paid via direct deposit
Schedule: Monday to Friday, business hours Central Time (between 40-50 hours a week)
Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain Go microservices for real-time sensor data ingestion and processing (WebSockets, data fusion)
• Migrate existing Python Lambda functions to Go
• Maintain legacy Python services during transition period
• Deploy and manage services on EKS (Kubernetes) and serverless infrastructure
• Integrate with hardware sensors and third-party APIs
• Debug production issues across distributed systems
• Write tests and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies:
Required Background
• 4-5 years of experience in a similar role
Required Skills
• Go – Concurrency patterns, WebSockets, building production microservices
• Python – Enough to read, debug, and migrate existing Lambda functions
• AWS – Lambda, ECS, Cognito, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch
• Databases – PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch
• Infrastructure – Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless Framework, CI/CD
Personality
• You figure things out. When something breaks at 2pm, you diagnose it yourself before asking for help.
• You've owned production systems and understand the difference between "works on my machine" and "works in prod"
• You write code that others can maintain
• You ask good questions upfront rather than building the wrong thing
• You're comfortable working with legacy code while building new systems
Nice to have:
• Real-time data processing experience
• IoT/sensor integrations
• Geospatial systems (PostGIS, Mapbox)
• WebSocket-based architectures
• Experience migrating services between languages/frameworks
