Job Purpose
The Program Manager – Project Management is responsible for leading and overseeing complex, cross-functional programs, ensuring successful execution from planning through completion. The Program Manager – Project Management develops and manages detailed project plans, aligns resources, and partners with stakeholders to drive process improvements, mitigate risks, and achieve organizational objectives. The Program Manager – Project Management also serves as a key point of communication and escalation, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards while guiding teams and maintaining momentum in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create detailed project plans which identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully implement a project. Initiatives may include new client onboarding and optimization projects that may not have a defined project plan already established.
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates resources to the activities.
- Oversee and manage large programs, often managing multiple related projects across different departments and coordinating with multiple Project Managers to achieve larger organizational goals
- Host discovery sessions with stakeholders and subject matter experts to capture current state and make recommendations on future state process improvements
- Work effectively to set goals, identify problems, and make decisions in a rapidly changing environment
- Proactively communicate and manage expectations of both internal and external stakeholders by facilitating weekly calls, recording detailed meeting minutes, identifying next steps in the process, and diligently follows-up on all open activities until project completion
- Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards
- Manage deliverables according to project timelines. Prepare and present project status and escalate issues to executive sponsors and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate the ability to integrate learnings from past projects and align them with broader initiatives, thinking strategically across projects
- Lead teams in high priority risk situations by coordinating and instilling a sense of urgency across multiple internal and client cross functional teams
- Act as point of escalation for critical implementation-related risks and facilitate their timely resolution
- Other duties as assigned
- Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
- Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
- Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required
- 5+ years of project management experience required
- PMP certification is preferred, but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Working Conditions
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed
- Travel to client sites may be required
- Must possess a smart-phone or electronic device capable of downloading applications, for multifactor authentication and security purposes
