The Product Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of industry-based insurance content within Zywave's Digital Distribution Suite. This position is responsible for translating complex industry advisory organization rules, rating algorithms, and regulatory requirements into precise, actionable specifications for highly configurable insurance rating, forms, and policy issuance systems. Working with algorithmic rating engines and integration-heavy products, the Product Analyst must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail in content analysis, documentation, and technical specification. This role serves as the subject matter expert and liaison between industry advisory organizations (ISO, AAIS), insurance carriers, and development teams, ensuring that sophisticated rating, forms and policy issuance solutions are built to exact industry specifications and deliver maximum value to our carrier clients.   Responsibilities and Essential Functions Industry Content Management & Requirements - Elicit and analyze requirements from industry sources (ISO, AAIS) for assigned lines of business, translating complex regulatory filings and industry manuals into actionable technical specifications - Interpret industry advisory organization rules, rating algorithms, and form language to ensure accurate implementation in the Digital Distribution Suite - Monitor and track industry source releases, bulletins, and circulars to proactively identify required product updates - Document complex rating logic, business rules, and form requirements with supporting artifacts such as calculation examples, coverage matrices, and rule specifications - Define validation rules, edge cases, and data requirements to ensure content accuracy and compliance Customer Collaboration & Subject Matter Expertise - Participate in requirements gathering sessions with customers, serving as the technical expert for assigned lines of business - Act as subject matter expert for assigned commercial lines (Auto, Property, General Liability, Inland Marine, Crime, BOP) ensuring accuracy of data capture, rating, rates, rules, and policy documents - Lead product demonstrations and training sessions for customers on industry-based content and functionality - Translate customer-specific needs and carrier variations into clear requirements that align with industry standards - Provide consultative guidance to customers on industry best practices and content configuration options Technical Implementation & Collaboration - Collaborate closely with configuration and development teams on JSON schema definitions, XML structures, and XSLT transformations for forms generation - Review technical implementations for alignment with industry specifications and participate in design discussions to ensure feasibility - Work with Product Owners and Product Managers to prioritize content based on customer impact, regulatory requirements, and technical dependencies Documentation - Communicate issues, gaps, and enhancement requirements with industry sources to ensure content completeness - Document and maintain comprehensive feature matrices detailing supported and unsupported functionality for each line of business - Create and update product documentation including user guides, release notes, and technical specifications - Maintain traceability between industry source material and implemented product features Cross-Functional Partnership - Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, Engineering, QA, Implementation, and Customer Success & Support teams   Required Experience: - Minimum 3-5 years of experience with industry-based commercial lines insurance such as Auto, Property, General Liability, Inland Marine, Crime, BOPInsurance domain experience required, particularly with: insurance product types (commercial lines, personal lines) and rating factors, industry advisory organizations (ISO, AAIS) content and filing structures, and rating methodologies and underwriting rules - Proven ability to work with complex, configuration-driven products with algorithmic components - Strong technical aptitude with ability to understand and document complex system architectures and rating algorithms - Hands-on experience or working knowledge of: JSON data structures and schema design, XML formats and transformations, XSLT for data transformation and templating, RESTful API design and integration patterns, and API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI/Postman) - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, macros, and data analysis - Ability to read and understand code samples to validate implementation - Exceptional attention to detail and technical writing skills - Ability to create process flows, data flow diagrams, and system integration diagrams - Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product development best practices - Proficiency with Jira or other web-based issue tracking tools - Familiarity with version control concepts and development workflows a plus Why Pick Zywave?  Zywave empowers insurers and brokers to drive profitable growth and thrive in today’s escalating risk landscape.
