We are now seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Services Associate to join our team in the Main Operating Room.

About the Role

The Patient Services Associate is a vital member of our unit-based care team, providing both clerical and patient care support to the Patient Management Team. Under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses or other licensed/certified healthcare professionals, you will perform tasks and duties that do not require a licensed practitioner, professional judgment, or intervention. Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with direct patient care, including grooming, oral hygiene, and comfort measures.
• Accept direction from RNs and team members, following through on delegated patient care activities.
• Accurately and promptly document patient care tasks, vital signs, and other relevant information.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to facilitate patient care and address patient needs.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, as well as transporting patients to other areas of the hospital.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including supporting department members and notifying staff of problems requiring prompt intervention.
• Participate in Unit-Based Council and serve as a role model/leader to patient care technicians.
• Assist with processing of bulk storage, peripheral sticks, daily pod audits, blood culture processing, and glucometer checks.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A High School Diploma or GED, plus at least 1 year of patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow directions.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• A commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the healthcare team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a perioperative or surgical setting.
• Certification as a Patient Care Technician or related field.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
