Key Responsibilities:
As a part-time Store Cashier and Stocker, you'll be expected to perform a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our stores. Your key responsibilities will include:
Cashier Responsibilities:
- Processing customer purchases efficiently and accurately
- Providing exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including the cash wrap and surrounding areas
- Stocking shelves and merchandise displays neatly and attractively
- Participating in taking store inventory counts and monitoring inventory for accuracy
- Adhering to cash policies and procedures to minimize losses
Stocker Responsibilities:
- Stocking shelves and rotating product properly to guarantee fresh product is available for customers
- Following merchandising planograms to create excellently merchandised displays
- Organizing new inventory, removing and breaking down empty boxes
- Operating machinery and following all safety procedures
- Maintaining a clean and organized stockroom and store environment
Shared Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with team members and communicating relevant information to direct leaders
- Upholding the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility
- Performing other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Requirements:
To be successful as a part-time Store Cashier and Stocker at ALDI, you'll need to meet the following qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age or older
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Effective time management skills
- Knowledge of products and services offered by ALDI
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior work experience in a retail environment
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
Skills and Competencies:
- Cash handling and cash register operation (for Cashiers)
- Knowledge of store operations and inventory management
- Ability to operate equipment safely and properly, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler (for Stockers)
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends
