We are looking for a highly driven, commercially astute Key Accounts Business Development Manager with a strong hunter mindset to accelerate growth across both new business acquisition and existing key accounts.
This role is focused on uncovering, creating and converting opportunities, with a clear mandate to build a high-quality, sustainable pipeline. The successful candidate will be expected to proactively identify gaps, challenge the status quo, and open doors at senior levels within target organisations.
You will operate in a fast-moving, high-growth environment, requiring resilience, adaptability and a bias for action.
Experience in the education, training or edtech sector will be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
New Business Development
- Proactively identify, target and secure new enterprise clients
- Build and execute strategic prospecting plans to generate qualified opportunities
- Engage senior stakeholders and decision-makers to open new revenue streams
- Drive the full sales cycle from lead generation through to close
Pipeline Creation & Management
- Build and maintain a robust, forward-looking pipeline across new and existing clients
- Consistently generate high-quality leads through networking, outreach and market insight
- Maintain strong pipeline hygiene, forecasting accuracy and deal momentum
Growth Within Existing Accounts
- Identify and unlock new opportunities within current key clients
- Drive upsell and cross-sell initiatives with a commercial, opportunity-led mindset
- Challenge and expand existing relationships to increase account value
Commercial Solutioning
- Develop compelling, insight-led proposals aligned to the client's business needs
- Position MasterStart as a strategic partner delivering measurable impact
Performance Delivery
- Consistently meet or exceed ambitious sales and revenue targets
- Track, analyse and optimise performance across pipeline and conversion metrics
Market & Client Intelligence
- Stay ahead of industry trends, particularly within education, skills development and corporate training
- Use insights to identify new entry points and competitive advantages
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Business Development/Hunter role, preferably in B2B or enterprise environments
- Demonstrated success in new business acquisition and pipeline generation
- Strong track record of consistently exceeding sales targets
- Experience in the education, training or edtech sector is highly advantageous
- Experience working with financial services clients is beneficial
- Exceptional prospecting, negotiation and closing skills
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking ability
- Resilient, self-motivated and highly driven to win new business
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Comfortable engaging at senior and executive levels
- Highly organised with a strong pipeline and time management discipline
- Willingness to travel as required
