Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Road and Bridge Operator I to join our team in Salida and Buena Vista, Colorado. As a key member of our Road and Bridge department, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the County's roads and bridges. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate trucks and other light and heavy equipment in the repair and maintenance of County roads and bridges
- Perform manual labor duties, including shoveling, raking, and tamping of asphalt, and controlling traffic work sites
- Haul materials, such as gravel, asphalt, and concrete, in a tandem axle dump truck
- Maintain equipment, including performing minor maintenance, CDL pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and routine service
- Assist in forming and finishing concrete, maintaining culverts, and removing snow from streets and public thoroughfares

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Colorado CDL Class B operator's license
- 1+ years of experience in operating trucks and heavy equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both individually and as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push, or pull burdens weighing up to 100 lbs and work in areas with extreme equipment noise
