They are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer Intern to assist in developing search ranking and recommendation models, applying machine learning techniques to enhance user interactions with their platform.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, building, and optimizing machine learning models that power our search ranking and recommendation systems
- Support the development of algorithms to personalize search results based on user behavior, preferences, and intent
- Help create and maintain data pipelines to process large datasets for search and recommendation features
- Apply foundational techniques in NLP, deep learning, or related areas to improve search relevance and recommendations
- Contribute to the development of scalable, fault-tolerant, and easy-to-use distributed systems for search and recommendations
- Create documentation for and test new ML applications
- Improve coding abilities by being introduced to new tools and programming languages
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and data science teams to implement ML-driven solutions
Skills
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities
- Foundational knowledge of machine learning concepts and algorithms
- Programming experience in Python, and familiarity with SQL
- Ability to work in teams and communicate technical concepts clearly
- Eagerness to learn and apply new technologies and ML techniques in a real-world setting
- Experience with embeddings and LLMs is a plus
