Key Responsibilities
As a Staff Accountant at Accounting Wise, you'll play a critical role in delivering high-quality accounting services to our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Bookkeeping for SaaS companies and online service-based businesses, ensuring accurate and timely financial records
- Revenue Recognition Management, including managing complex revenue streams and ensuring compliance with US GAAP
- Management of accounts payables and receivables, ensuring efficient cash flow and minimizing errors
- Management of accruals, including prepaid assets, liabilities, and other financial obligations
- Profit sharing and equity calculations, requiring a deep understanding of financial modeling and accounting principles
- Budgeting and Forecasting, working closely with clients to develop financial plans and projections
- Providing in-depth answers, explanations, and advice to clients during periodic meetings
- Handling a wide range of ad-hoc client requests, demonstrating flexibility and a customer-centric approach
Essential Qualifications
To succeed as a Staff Accountant at Accounting Wise, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's Degree or MBA in Accounting or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in accounting principles
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably working with software companies, fintech, lead generation, and/or online service-based businesses
- Native English or near-native fluency, ensuring effective communication with clients and team members
- Knowledge of accounting systems and related platforms, including Quickbooks Online, Xero, Bill.com, Expensify, Karbon project management, Gusto, and MS Office
- Experience in managing and coordinating client concerns and solutions, demonstrating a customer-centric approach
- Familiarity with online communication platforms, including Google Suite, Slack, Loom, and Teams
- Comfort with technology and a variety of online service platforms, with the ability to adapt to new tools and systems
- A comfortable and functional knowledge of US GAAP accounting, with the ability to apply principles in a practical setting
