Job Overview

We are currently seeking experienced Remote Translators to work on a contract with a client who requires translation and editing services for materials related to disaster relief and response. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to a critical project that makes a real difference in people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate and edit materials related to disaster relief and response from English into the required target languages, ensuring accuracy, quality, and cultural relevance.
• Work closely with our team to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality translations that meet our clients' needs.
• Utilize translation software and other tools to facilitate the translation process and ensure consistency across projects.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in translation and interpretation.

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• US Citizen, Green Card holder, or Permanent US Resident - applicants must live and work in the US.
• Experience in translation and/or interpretation, preferably in a related field such as disaster relief or government services.
• Native or near-native fluency in English and the required target language(s).
• Strong understanding of cultural nuances and linguistic variations.
• Excellent writing and editing skills in the target language(s).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in translation or interpretation, such as:
  • A current voting member in good standing of the American Translators Association.
  • A current member in good standing of the American Association of Language Specialists.
  • A certified and registered interpreter on the Judicial Council Master List.
  • A degree in Translation or Interpretation.
• Experience working with translation software and other tools.
• Familiarity with the disaster relief and response sector.
