Job Overview
The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of new site development processes for Tesla's charging products. This includes identifying the best locations for Tesla charging stations, overseeing site selection, contract negotiation with site hosts, utility and permitting feasibility studies, and ensuring a smooth handover of projects to the installation team for construction and completion. The successful candidate will be fully accountable for ensuring that current and future Tesla customers have an exceptional experience with the most convenient and efficient charging stations.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage a pipeline of potential new sites that meet market objectives to serve current and future Tesla customers
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including site hosts, utilities, and permitting authorities
- Develop, refine, and manage comprehensive site feasibility studies
- Lead efforts to obtain all necessary approvals from utilities and permitting authorities
- Collaborate with lawyers to draft, negotiate, and execute site host agreements
- Work closely with installation partners to evaluate and manage installation costs and schedules
