About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Tennent, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students and gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer the highest pay rates among substitute providers, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and support you need to excel in the classroom and grow as an educator.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of subjects and grade levels, including elementary, middle, and high school
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote student learning and achievement
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Essential Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references with one by a previous direct supervisor
- NJ Substitute Credential
- Background check & TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this!)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and putting students first
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with educational technology and software
