About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Howell, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher, you will have the flexibility to choose your own schedule, working on a day-to-day or long-term basis, depending on your preferences. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons to students, following the teacher's plans and instructions
• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student engagement and participation
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff
• Be flexible and adaptable, able to work in a variety of school settings and with different age groups
• Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents, providing feedback and updates on student progress
• Participate in professional development opportunities, to enhance your skills and knowledge

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor
• A NJ Substitute Credential
• A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination
• A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable:

• Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related field
• A degree in Education or a related field
• Specialized training or certifications, such as special education or English language learner support
• Experience working with diverse student populations, including students with special needs
