Role Overview
ProAg is looking for an experienced Crop Adjuster to join our team in Illinois! Working under close supervision, this position conducts field inspections, reviews maps and aerial imagery, measures acres, inspects storage, and documents claim findings in accordance with federal crop insurance regulations and company procedures.
This role is well suited for individuals interested in agriculture and insurance who enjoy working independently in the field and building strong relationships local with producers and agents. The position requires physical activity, frequent travel, and a strong commitment to customer service, accuracy, and regulatory compliance, while offering hands‑on training and development within the crop insurance industry.
In this Exciting Opportunity, You Will:
- Conduct field inspections to asses crop damage or loss, including measuring fields, reviewing maps and aerial imagery, and inspecting storage facilities.
- Collect, document, and enter accurate claim information using company systems and tools.
- Determine cause and extent of loss in accordance with MPCI, Crop Hail, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Communicate professionally with producers, agents, and internal partners throughout the claims process.
- Manager assigned claim workload to meet quality, timeliness, and customer service standards.
- Apply adjusting guidelines, company procedures, and regulatory requirements with attention to detail and compliance.
- Participate in required training and ongoing development to build technical and regulatory knowledge.
- Present the organization in the field with professionalism, integrity, and a strong customer service focus
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED
- Crop insurance experience in claims or compliance or any ag-related experience and background
- Analytical skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer and internet applications
- Communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Reliable means of transportation and the willingness to travel
- Completion of your Claim Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) certification and/or any applicable licenses required by State agencies preferred.

Pay Transparency
The pay range for this position is $44,200 - $89,300, which includes geographic adjustments, where applicable. The pay range is the range THMCC, in good faith, believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting. The hired applicant will be offered pay within the entire range based on the candidate’s geographic location, qualifications, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
