Individually and together, our employees are dedicated to satisfying the mission of our organization which is an unwavering commitment to excellence as we care for the sick and injured; educate physicians, nurses and other health care providers; and improve access to care in the communities we serve, regardless of a patient's ability to pay for health care.The Virtual Patient Observation Attendant observes patients via the use of technology under the close supervision and direction of the registered nurse.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reports on/off duty to the registered nurses assigned to care for patients.Receives specific observation guidelines from the registered nurse for each patient/shift/assignmentEnsures a safe environment for the patients, under the direction of a registered nurseRemains in visual contact with patients AT ALL TIMES via designated IT technology platform as directed by the registered nurseIdentifies self to patients and/or family members or significant othersProvides virtual continual observation and monitoring of multiple patients at a time using SLUHN designated IT platformReports behavior changes and patient requests to patient's assigned nursesPHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:Sit up to 8 hours per day. Stand for up to 8 hours per day. Occasionally lift, carry and push objects up to 10 pounds. Must be able to hear as it relates normal conversation and high/low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral vision. EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent required.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Must complete mandatory education and competencies required for position.
