Virtual Medical Assisstant

This is a remote position. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Virtual Medical Assistant (VMA) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting healthcare providers with administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring smooth workflow, and enhancing patient care. Key Responsibilities: • Manage patient scheduling, appointments, and reminders. • Assist with medical documentation, including charting and updating electronic health records (EHR/EMR). • Handle insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and referral coordination. • Communicate with patients via phone, email, or messaging to address inquiries, follow-ups, and appointment confirmations. • Process prescription refills and coordinate with pharmacies as needed. • Assist providers with telehealth visits by documenting patient encounters in real time. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations. • Perform basic billing support, including verifying patient insurance coverage and handling prior authorizations. • Coordinate with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth patient care. • Manage administrative tasks such as data entry, report preparation, and handling correspondence. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: • Must be a Spanish Speaker (bilingual preferred). • 6 months to 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, Virtual Medical Assistant, or similar healthcare role. • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) and telehealth platforms. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment. • Highly organized with excellent problem-solving and time management abilities. Knowledge & Skills: • Spanish Speaker (required for patient interactions and documentation). • Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems such as Athena health, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms. • Familiarity with medical terminology and HIPAA compliance regulations. • Strong knowledge of medical office procedures, patient scheduling, and insurance verifications. • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with healthcare providers. • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills to ensure accuracy in documentation and patient care. • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a remote healthcare setting.
