Sr. Assistant Vice President Legal Technology Transactions Counsel

About the position We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAVP - Legal, Technology Transactions Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. This role will play a key leadership position in managing technology transaction negotiations, M&A and supporting corporate development activities. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with exceptional legal expertise, business acumen, and the ability to balance complex legal and business considerations in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities • Manage and oversee technology transaction negotiations for one or more business units, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. • Provide legal support for M&A transactions and corporate development initiatives. • Ensure business teams understand the implications of contracts from an end-to-end perspective, fostering a holistic approach to decision-making. • Balance business objectives and contract goals against legal, policy, reputational, and other risks while maintaining sound judgment in decision-making. • Advocate for positions and views effectively with internal stakeholders and external counterparties. • Coordinate with other in-house counsel on cross-functional issues and work cooperatively as part of a larger legal team. Requirements • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier U.S. law school. • A minimum of 5+ years of legal experience, ideally combining time at a large law firm with in-house counsel experience focused on general corporate law, technology transactions, SaaS agreements, and software licensing matters. • Proven ability to prioritize and execute mission-critical tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Exceptional communication and listening skills, with the ability to convey complex legal issues effectively to senior business executives. • A self-directed work style with the ability to function under limited supervision. • Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple priorities effectively. • A proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership, responsiveness, and an action-oriented mindset.
