Shopify Developer (Freelance) – Theme Customization & On-Demand Fixes About Us We are a growing brand in the food and beverage industry and are looking for a skilled Shopify Developer to support us with on-demand technical fixes, theme adjustments, and custom coding across our Shopify storefront. Our team manages an active e-commerce environment with multiple product lines, frequent promotions, and ongoing UI/UX enhancements. We’re seeking someone reliable, fast-responding, and experienced in developing clean, scalable Shopify code. ________________________________________ Role Overview We’re looking for a Shopify Developer who can work with us on a punctual, as-needed basis to troubleshoot, implement fixes, and develop custom functionalities on our Shopify theme. This role is ideal for someone who is highly experienced with the Shopify ecosystem and can quickly understand an existing custom theme to produce efficient solutions. IMPORTANT We need immediate help: Issue to Fix: Price Bubble & Variant Widget Mismatch When we run promotions (e.g., 20%, 10% off), we update the Compare at price and Price fields. Our theme then displays a price bubble showing the discounted price (e.g., $14.82 for the 6-pack). However, the variant widget underneath often shows a different variant (e.g., 12-pack), causing the bubble price (e.g., $14.82 for the 6-pack) to not match the widget price. We need a developer to fix this mismatch. Goals: Option 1 (Preferred): The price bubble should display the discounted price of the same variant shown in the widget. Option 2: The widget should automatically switch to the same variant used by the price bubble. We’re open to best-practice recommendations. Alternative (if syncing isn’t possible): Allow the price bubble to display a text badge (e.g., “20%, 10% OFF”) instead of a price to prevent inconsistencies. After this project, we’d like to work with this person on demand. ________________________________________ Responsibilities •Implement custom code fixes and adjustments within our Shopify theme (Liquid, HTML, JavaScript, CSS). • Troubleshoot pricing display issues, product variant logic, metafields, cart behavior, subscription widget alignment, etc. • Optimize frontend UI/UX elements while respecting existing brand guidelines. • Adjust theme settings, layouts, templates, and app integrations to support new campaigns, promotions, and product launches. • Ensure compatibility across mobile and desktop experiences. • Collaborate with the marketing team to translate requests into functional and clean technical solutions. • Perform quality checks before deploying edits to ensure no conflicts or theme breakage. • Provide recommendations for scalable solutions and best practices. ________________________________________ Requirements • 3+ years of experience developing on Shopify • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and Shopify Liquid. • Demonstrated experience customizing themes. • Experience working with third-party apps, subscription systems, and dynamic promotional pricing. • Ability to quickly diagnose and fix theme-related issues. • Strong understanding of Shopify metafields, dynamic sources, and theme schemas. • Ability to work independently, manage urgent fixes, and communicate clearly with non-technical team members. • Experience with Shopify Markets, multi-currency, or multi-location setups. • Experience with analytics-related tags (GA4, Meta Pixel, tracking events). • Understanding of UX/UI best practices for e-commerce conversion. ________________________________________ Availability • Flexible, on-call, based on workload. • Ability to handle fast turnaround for time-sensitive fixes (e.g., promo launches, product updates).
