Our providers are nationally recognized for their commitment to excellent patient satisfaction, quality healthcare, and community well-being. **Job Summary** As a Part Time Remote Customer Service Specialist, you will be responsible for answering a high volume of inbound calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities. You will serve as the initial point of contact and liaison between these stakeholders, facilitating patient healthcare needs and ensuring seamless communication. Your expertise in electronic health records, critical thinking, and problem-solving will enable you to navigate complex issues and provide exceptional customer service. **Responsibilities** * Navigate the electronic health record to obtain and validate historical information, capture and document demographic and financial information, and maintain patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA. * Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations. * Leverage critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity. * Research complex issues in the electronic health record and consult/escalate to clinical staff when necessary, utilizing multiple job aids and resources to provide an appropriate level of service. * Schedule patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verify and update insurance, and collect and document demographics. * Maintain proficiency in and share knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions, documenting and sending messages to providers and clinical staff in the electronic health record for clinical-based needs. * Communicate directly with providers (physicians) to relay pertinent clinical information during after-hours, managing calls within established performance and customer service standards. **Minimum Requirements** * High School Diploma or GED * 2-5 years of experience in healthcare or customer service * No supervisor experience required **Preferred Qualifications** * Recent healthcare or customer service experience * Experience with electronic health records and HIPAA compliance * Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication and customer service skills * Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner **Benefits and Legal Statement** At blithequark, we are committed to providing you and your family with benefits and resources to help you manage your physical, emotional, social, and financial well-being.
