About the position Squarespace’s Finance team is seeking a Lead Financial Analyst to oversee financial planning and strategic analysis for our Marketing organization . This role sits within our Investments FP&A team and will serve as a key finance partner to our Marketing leaders, driving insights into how we invest to acquire, engage, and retain customers efficiently. You’ll work closely with the Director of FP&A, Investments and senior cross-functional partners to evaluate marketing performance, shape investment strategy, and ensure that every dollar spent drives sustainable growth. The ideal candidate combines deep analytical rigor with strong business acumen and communication skills. We’re looking for someone who not only understands how to run the numbers, but also how to ask the right questions, connect the dots, and clearly communicate what matters. Responsibilities • Drive key components of the monthly close, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for Marketing • Own and improve financial models and tools that support investment decisions, spend efficiency, ROI, and performance across all marketing channels. • Analyze key marketing KPIs including customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), payback periods, channel efficiency, and brand investment performance. • Translate marketing performance data into actionable insights; identifying trends, highlighting risks and opportunities, and influencing strategic decisions. • Support strategic initiatives such as new channel testing, brand campaigns, and international marketing investments, providing financial frameworks to evaluate impact. • Drive process improvement and scalability across forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking for marketing investments. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing Operations, Data, and Strategy teams to ensure consistent measurement of spend effectiveness and ROI. • Prepare materials and narratives that clearly communicate performance drivers, investment rationale, and recommendations to senior finance and executive leadership.
