World Bank Research Assistant Consultant – AI for Coffee Farmers in Uganda

DECDI’s Planet Impact Lab (DECPL) is recruiting a Research Assistant consultant based in Uganda to support an innovative World Bank research initiative at the intersection of artificial intelligence and agriculture. As part of our research team, you will contribute to the development and rigorous evaluation of an AI-powered advisory tool designed to help smallholder coffee farmers adopt climate-smart agriculture (CSA) practices and improve productivity. The tool will provide localized, conversational guidance in Luganda and other widely spoken Ugandan languages, complementing and strengthening existing extension services. The Research Assistant will support the design and testing of SurveyCTO instruments and the AI tool, assist with data quality assurance, and contribute to data management, cleaning, and quantitative analysis. The Research Assistant will work closely with the World Bank research team to help ensure high-quality data and rigorous impact evaluation of this initiative.
