This role ensures HR initiatives directly support organizational growth, workforce stability, compliance, and culture across all communities and corporate functions. The VP of HR leads all core HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, succession planning, and HR compliance, while serving as a trusted advisor to the President and senior leadership team. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with Charter’s mission, values, and long-term business objectives • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and change management • Lead HR transformation initiatives that support scalability, operational excellence, and culture alignment Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning • Oversee enterprise recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies in a competitive senior living labor market • Drive succession planning and leadership development for high-potential leaders • Partner with operations to anticipate workforce needs and support new community growth Employee Engagement & Culture • Champion employee engagement, recognition, and well-being initiatives to improve retention and satisfaction • Embed Charter’s mission and values into all HR programs, policies, and practices • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and servant leadership HR Operations & Compliance • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulatory requirements • Oversee HR policies, employee relations, performance management, and investigations • Maintain ethical standards and risk mitigation practices across the organization Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required • Master’s degree and/or HR certifications (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including executive or enterprise-level responsibility • Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or other service-driven, multi-site organizations preferred • Strong working knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices • Proven ability to influence executive leaders and drive organizational change Key Competencies • Strategic and innovative thinker • High emotional intelligence with strong relationship-building skills • Decisive, ethical, and results-oriented leader • Collaborative executive with a servant-leader mindset • Strong communicator across all organizational levels Why This Role Matters This role directly impacts the experience of thousands of associates and residents.
