Your Role:
As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing core user-facing features, guiding frontend architecture, and shaping how users interact with the product. You will collaborate closely with design, product, and backend teams to ensure high-quality, accessible, and responsive interfaces. You’ll also support real-time experiences in the browser and contribute to broader technical direction across the frontend. This role is ideal for an experienced frontend engineer who enjoys solving complex UI problems, mentoring others, and driving consistent, thoughtful user experiences in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Frontend Development:
Lead the development of intuitive, responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks and Tailwind CSS. Ensure accessibility, consistency, and performance across devices.
Architecture & Design Systems:
Contribute to the evolution of our frontend architecture and design system. Define patterns and abstractions that promote code quality, maintainability, and development speed.
Real-Time Interfaces:
Support real-time browser-based features by integrating with WebSocket-powered systems. Help ensure smooth, low-latency UI updates for features like in-browser voice interactions or live status indicators.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with backend engineers, designers, and product managers to scope and deliver cohesive, well-integrated features that align with user needs and product goals.
Performance Optimization:
Continuously monitor and improve frontend performance and reliability, especially in complex user flows or real-time environments.
Code Quality & Best Practices:
Drive high standards in frontend development through regular code reviews, testing, and mentorship. Help other engineers navigate frontend complexity and unblock progress.
Technical Proficiency
Must have experience with several of the following:
Front-End Technologies
Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with strong experience in frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular. Familiarity with CSS tooling like Tailwind is a plus.
Real-Time Interfaces
Experience building browser-based features that use WebSockets or similar technologies for real-time updates and interactivity.
UI/UX Implementation
Strong understanding of layout, accessibility, and design integration. Comfortable translating high-fidelity designs into reliable, user-friendly interfaces.
API Integration
Fluent in working with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs to connect frontend features to backend systems, including thoughtful handling of loading, errors, and edge cases.
Testing & Quality Assurance
Experience with automated frontend testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or Testing Library. Strong focus on preventing regressions and maintaining confidence in releases.
Cloud Platforms & CI/CD
Familiarity with cloud-hosted frontend environments (e.g., on AWS or GCP) and with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI to support a stable deployment pipeline.
Qualifications
- Experience
8+ years in frontend development, with a proven track record of owning major UI projects and delivering high-quality, production-grade interfaces at scale.
Technical Expertise
Strong background in modern frontend architecture and development practices, including state management, performance tuning, and design system usage or implementation.
Problem Solving
Skilled at navigating complex user interaction problems and delivering clear, reliable solutions that balance technical constraints and user needs.
Collaboration
Able to work effectively within a cross-functional team and communicate clearly with designers, engineers, and product stakeholders.
Mentorship
Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a collaborative, growth-oriented engineering culture.
