Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a luxury private game reserve in the Northern Cape for an experienced Stable Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled equestrian professional to manage the care, training, and welfare of horses while supporting guest riding experiences in a luxury safari environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the daily care, feeding, grooming, and exercise of all horses
• Develop and implement training programs for horses and riders
• Supervise and manage stable staff, ensuring high standards of animal care and performance
• Maintain stables, paddocks, and associated facilities in excellent condition
• Manage inventory of feed, equipment, and supplies, including ordering and stock control
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare standards for both horses and staff
• Coordinate guest riding activities, ensuring safety and exceptional experiences
• Maintain records of horse health, training progress, and maintenance schedules
• Assist with breeding, veterinary care, and farrier schedules where required
• Provide mentoring and training for junior stable staff
Requirements
• Proven experience managing stables in a lodge, game reserve, or equestrian environment
• Strong equestrian skills and knowledge of horse training, care, and welfare
• Leadership and staff management experience
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a remote environment
• Must hold a valid driver’s licence
• Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and public holidays
