Grocery Outlet is a fast-growing retailer focused on providing value to bargain-minded consumers in the U.S. The Sr. Strategy Analyst will play a crucial role in driving analytical insights and supporting strategic projects that enhance operational execution and growth within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support long-term strategic growth initiatives, planning, and general business analysis both independently, within the strategy team, and with other departments
- Perform general analysis and synthesize of information to support board and executive team meetings
- Own analysis, implementation, and next steps for topics including pricing, operational performance, marketing effectiveness, and other initiatives that drive gross profit
- Perform market basket analysis to recommend changes in merchandising or pricing
- Conduct ad-hoc Grocery Outlet performance, financial, and market analyses to inform strategic decision-making
- Identify and pursue additional product-driven analysis and initiatives to drive growth
- Support long-term strategic growth/improvement initiatives, planning, execution, and reporting
Skills
- Bachelor's degree
- 1-3 years relevant work experience (Consulting/Banking, Operations, Business Strategy, FP&A, or Retail Analyst)
- Strong analytical and statistical skills
- Excellent at structuring analysis and identifying key metrics to get to an “answer”
- Creative and innovative thinker
- Inquisitive nature
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across all departments and up and down all levels
- Self-starter who can manage own work
- Strong interest in retail
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
