Senior Software Architect (Remote – Pakistan)

Work Hours: 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM PST (09:00 PM - 5:00 AM PKT)
Role Overview
We're looking for a hands-on Senior Software Architect who doesn't just design systems—but builds and scales them.
In this role, you'll architect, design, and code large-scale backend systems powering real-world, data-heavy applications. You'll take ownership of system design, make critical technical decisions, and turn complex ideas into high-performing production systems.
If you enjoy deep system design, writing production-grade code, and solving hard scaling problems, this role is for you.
What You'll Do

Design, build, and scale robust backend systems handling real production workloads

Lead system architecture and design decisions across APIs, crawlers, and data pipelines

Write and own critical backend code, not just high-level designs

Build systems from scratch with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability

Break down complex architectures into clear, executable plans for the team

Ensure system reliability through monitoring, optimization, and continuous improvement

Collaborate with leadership on technical strategy and long-term architecture

Mentor engineers through code reviews, system design discussions, and best practices
What We're Looking For

10+ years of experience in software engineering / architecture (backend-focused)

Proven experience designing and building production-grade systems at scale

Strong expertise in system design (scalability, performance, failure handling)

Ability to code, design, and lead simultaneously

Experience building APIs and backend services used by real users

Comfortable making high-impact technical decisions independently

Python experience is a plus

Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT)
Nice to Have

Experience working with legacy system modernization

Background in data-heavy systems (crawlers, feeds, analytics pipelines)

Strong understanding of infrastructure, scaling, and performance tuning

Experience mentoring mid-to-senior engineers
