Job Summary
As the Senior Design Manager for DashPass and Affordability at DoorDash, you will oversee two key initiatives: DashPass, which aims to create the most rewarding membership program for local commerce, and the Affordability team, which is dedicated to making DoorDash services more accessible and cost-effective for all customers. You will manage a talented group of designers, guiding them through the design process, and ensuring that their work aligns with the overall product vision. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and User Research, to define a clear design roadmap that enhances user experience and drives customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Leadership: Manage a group of designers and define the design strategy for DashPass and Affordability, ensuring that the team's work aligns with the overall product vision.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and User Research to define a clear product vision and roadmap, and to ensure that design solutions meet business objectives.
- Mentorship: Mentor and coach designers on the team, providing project feedback and career guidance to help them grow and develop in their roles.
- Recruitment: Partner with the recruiting team to attract, interview, and hire new designers for the team, ensuring that we build a diverse and talented team.
- Problem-Solving: Explore complex problem spaces and chart a path forward for product development, identifying opportunities to drive business growth and improve the customer experience.
- Influence: Influence the team's approach to product development and shape organizational processes, ensuring that design solutions meet business objectives and customer needs.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience: 4+ years of experience managing successful product design teams, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality design solutions.
- Advocacy: Strong advocacy for product quality and user-centric product development, with a passion for creating seamless and enjoyable experiences for customers.
- Leadership: Ability to engage teammates and proactively initiate new programs, with a strong focus on collaboration and team-building.
- Complex Problem-Solving: Comfortable working within complex product ecosystems, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty.
