What You'll Do: We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Principal Asset Management Enterprise team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting accurate financial reporting, analysis, and operational insights for Principal Asset Management’s global investment platforms. You'll contribute to a range of accounting, reporting, expense analysis, and process improvement activities that support business transparency, regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making. The position plays an important role in shaping high-quality financial reporting for global operations.  Key Responsibilities  Financial Reporting & Analysis  - Prepare, review, and analyze financial information for internal stakeholders to support management and regulatory reporting needs  - Provide clear explanations of financial results, trends, and drivers to finance partners, leadership, and auditors  - Assist with audit inquiries and ensure documentation supports internal controls, policies, and accounting standards    Cost & Allocation Support  - Support recurring cost allocation processes across Principal Asset Management products and business units  - Ensure allocations are completed accurately and timely in accordance with approved methodologies  - Assist with maintaining documentation of assumptions along with factors supporting audits, regulatory reviews, and transfer pricing analysis   - Support evaluation of allocation impacts on cross-border entities in coordination with Tax and International Finance partners    Process Improvement & Systems  - Seek opportunities to improve, streamline, and automate accounting and reporting processes  - Support implementation or enhancement of financial systems, tools, and ERP functionality  - Recommend improvements to procedures, methodologies, and documentation to strengthen efficiency and controls    Cross-Functional Collaboration  - Partner with Finance and Business Support teams to gather data, validate assumptions, and resolve issues  - Communicate outcomes and impacts to stakeholders with clarity and professionalism  - Assist with special projects, financial analysis, and strategic initiatives as needed  - Collaborate with Tax, Legal, and International Finance teams to ensure accounting activities appropriately consider intercompany agreements and global requirements    Operating at the intersection of financial services and technology, Principal builds financial tools that help our customers live better lives. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range: $84600 - $152400 / year Salary Details: The following locations are examples of market-specific salary ranges across different geographies.  - Wichita, KS: $84,600 - $114,300 / year - Des Moines, IA: $89,300 - $120,650 / year - Charlotte, NC: $94,000 - $127,000 / year - Chicago/Minneapolis: $103,400 - $139,700 / year - Los Angeles/New York City: $112,800 - $152,400 / year Time Off Program: Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
