The Proposal Engineer - Power & Renewables will manage the development of technical proposals and project cost estimates in collaboration with sales and technical teams to produce high-quality, competitive bids.
Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of the proposal process and timelines, ensuring accountability for all stakeholders
- Leads the draft response document and draft estimate creation efforts and collaborates with the pursuit team to ensure accuracy of inputs
- Partners with technical, sales, and field services teams to secure input from all stakeholders
- Optimize scope to address client needs and ensure our response is clear and compelling
- Maintain company-wide consistency for proposals, templates, corporate guidelines, and other standards and industry best practices
- Prepare proposal development plan (PDP), manage assignments, manage communication, and overall organization of the proposal response
- Manage/facilitate subcontractor elements of a proposal, if needed
- Responsible for the integrity of CRM data for opportunities in the development stage
- Lead internal opportunity-specific meetings
- Participate in the development of new processes, efficiency tools, and databases at the team and company level
- All other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, structural, mechanical, or civil) or a technical field related to power or renewables
- 1-5 years of experience in proposals or project management in the power or renewables market
- Strong business acumen: project management, proposals, and consulting engineering
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and external stakeholders
- Client-centric oriented behavior
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
