Latitude Legal is seeking an experienced California Trust & Estate Litigation Paralegal to join a well-regarded estate planning and litigation firm on a full-time, permanent, fully remote basis. The role involves providing substantive litigation support in trust and estate disputes, managing filings, and assisting with trial preparation while maintaining communication with clients and courts.
Responsibilities
• Provide substantive litigation support in trust, will, and estate disputes, including drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and related correspondence
• Prepare and manage Probate Code-based filings, ensuring compliance with California Probate Code requirements and local court rules
• Coordinate and manage written discovery, document review, and evidence organization for active litigation matters
• Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including assembling trial notebooks, exhibits, deposition summaries, witness materials, and court filings
• Maintain litigation calendars, track deadlines, and manage digital case files using cloud-based case management systems
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, fiduciaries, and opposing counsel under attorney supervision
• Conduct legal research related to trust and estate disputes, statutes, and procedural issues to support attorney strategy
Skills
• Litigation paralegal with at least 3 years of experience, with a focus on trust and estate, probate, or fiduciary litigation
• Familiar with California Probate Code, contested probate procedures, and local court rules
• Skilled in drafting and organizing litigation documents and supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple active matters in a remote environment
• Strong communicator with a professional, client-service mindset
• Tech-savvy, with experience using cloud-based case management and document management systems
• Able to work independently while remaining responsive and collaborative with attorneys and staff
• Outstanding references required
• Paralegal certificate preferred (or equivalent practical litigation experience)
