3D Visualization Artist (Photoreal Outdoor + Architecture) – Unreal Engine Expert Contract or Full-Time | Remote or Hybrid | At POLYWOOD, we don’t just design outdoor furniture. We design the moments that happen around it. From backyard gatherings to thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces, our products help people connect, relax, and feel at home outside. To bring those spaces to life visually, we’re looking for a 3D Visualization Artist who specializes in photoreal outdoor and architectural environments using Unreal Engine. This is not a game design role. This is about realism, material accuracy, light, and atmosphere. It’s about creating images and motion that feel tangible, cinematic, and true to the real world. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Work You’ll Love Doing In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our Creative and Product teams to build high-fidelity visualizations of outdoor environments, furniture settings, and residential architecture. Your work will help shape how customers experience POLYWOOD before they ever sit down. You’ll be responsible for: • Building photoreal outdoor scenes including patios, backyards, and architectural interiors and exteriors • Importing, staging, and lighting SolidWorks-based furniture models using Datasmith and Direct Link • Producing stills and animated sequences using Unreal Engine and Movie Render Queue • Creating and customizing master materials for plastics, powder-coated metals, wood, and fabrics • Developing accurate PBR materials from physical references and real-world finishes • Using particle systems to simulate weather and environmental effects such as rain, snow, and fog • Integrating foliage, Nanite assets, and environmental elements to achieve realism at scale • Partnering with Creative and Product teams to continuously raise the visual quality bar • Optionally using Twinmotion for scene setup prior to Unreal Engine synchronization ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- What You Bring You have a strong technical foundation paired with an artist’s eye for realism and composition. We’re looking for someone who brings: • 3 or more years of experience in 3D visualization or architectural visualization • Advanced expertise in Unreal Engine, including Lumen, Nanite, Path Tracer, MRQ, and lighting workflows • Experience importing CAD assets using STEP files and Datasmith pipelines • Deep understanding of foliage systems and asset optimization • Strong knowledge of physically based rendering and material creation • Comfort working in a Twinmotion and Unreal hybrid workflow • A refined sense of lighting, color, scale, and composition • Experience creating animated camera movement and dynamic environmental conditions Bonus Skills • Experience with SpeedTree, World Creator, Houdini, or Cinema 4D • Background in architecture or design • Familiarity with Python or Blueprint scripting ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why You’ll Love Working Here • Your work directly supports a growing portfolio of premium outdoor and architectural spaces • You’ll join a design-forward, mission-driven company with a strong creative culture • Flexible work options including contract-to-hire or permanent employment • The opportunity to contribute to one of the most advanced product visualization pipelines in the industry About Us POLYWOOD designs and builds sustainable outdoor furniture that brings people together.
