We’re seeking an experienced Physician-Based Coding Auditor to support ongoing auditing, compliance, and coding quality initiatives. This is a fully remote, direct hire opportunity for North Carolina residents who enjoy combining auditing expertise with education and collaboration.
What You’ll Do
• Conduct physician-based coding audits across multispecialty services, including E/M, outpatient surgery, and inpatient encounters
• Perform retrospective audits to ensure documentation supports coded services and regulatory requirements
• Communicate audit findings and provide education to physicians and coding teams
• Assist with denials research, appeals support, and payer policy interpretation
• Collaborate closely with Coding, Insurance, and Regulatory teams to improve accuracy and compliance
What We’re Looking For
• CPC or CCS certification required (CPC-A not accepted)
• 2–3+ years of physician-based coding experience; auditing experience preferred
• Strong multispecialty background with solid E/M knowledge
• Confident communicator who enjoys educating and supporting providers and coders
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• RHIT or RHIA credentials are a plus
