Help communities prepare before disaster strikes — from wherever you are. The American Red Cross is launching RC Prepare, a new system to track and manage community preparedness programs.
We're looking for a Volunteer Project Manager to support the rollout and ensure staff and volunteers feel confident using the new platform.
Your Key Responsibilities
Training Support
• Lead and improve training sessions for staff and volunteers
• Provide one-on-one or small group support during rollout
• Update user guides and slides for clarity and ease of use
Help Desk & User Support
• Answer questions via email or chat
• Track common issues and share with technical teams
• Maintain FAQs and “how-to” guides
• Log user feedback to improve support
Program Knowledge & Testing
• Learn how RC Prepare supports the Red Cross mission
• Test new features and suggest usability improvements
• Recommend process enhancements based on user experience
Rollout Tracking & Communication
• Maintain a tracker of rollout progress across regions
• Coordinate launch dates and timelines
• Summarize feedback for reports and updates
Data Quality & Documentation
• Review user entries for accuracy and consistency
• Identify training needs based on data patterns
• Create visual guides for correct data entry
Team Collaboration
• Join team meetings and share updates
• Partner with Preparedness, IT, and Data teams
• Foster a positive, supportive learning environment
Required Qualifications
• 3–5 years of project or program management experience (ideally with system/process changes)
• Strong communication skills — empathetic and clear
• Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks
• Experience training or supporting users in new systems
• Team-oriented and passionate about helping others adapt
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with communication or change management plans
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Background in preparedness, public service, or volunteer programs
• Project or change management certification (helpful but not required)
