About KOMM
KO Media Management is a botique literary and licensing agency, founded in 2022 in Seattle, WA, by Kathleen Ortiz, who has agented for nearly two decades.
Innovative: At KO Media Management, we're all about helping our clients' publishing and licensing brands shine, using fresh ideas and a lot of grit (our favorite moments are when someone says, "You can't do that," and we ask them to hold our coffee while we show them: we're right!)
Supportive: As a boutique literary and media representation agency, we're your go-to partner for unlocking licensing opportunities for your IP. Our clients' work has graced international bestseller lists, Indie Bestseller lists, the National Book Awards' shortlist, and are internationally recognized. Whether it's books, merchandise, translations, film/tv, digital media, or other licensing avenues, we're here to help you discover new possibilities.
Collaborative: We partner with other agencies to manage their international rights in both licensing and publishing.
About YOU:
Motivated: We're looking for a licensing and/or literary agent, who is passionate about their clients and always brings their best to the table. If you have a solid track record in the industry, are always thinking of opportunities beyond the book for their clients, but maybe didn't know where to start or didn't have the right resources to help clients' IP grow, we'd love to hear from you!
Strategic: As an agent at KOMM, you'll be responsible for building your client list based on the books you're passionate about and think will do well in the marketplace. You will take the initiative to strategize your clients' careers and use agency resources to help elevate clients' brands. Attention to detail is key, as well as strong organization skills and communication skills: handling correspondence, both written and verbal, with professionalism helps your representation of KOMM and its clients.
Independent, Who Thrives in Collaborative Environments: At KOMM, you're not working in a silo. You have a team around you to help brainstorm and advise, but as an agent, you're a business within a business, building out your clients' career strategy and managing their day-to-day career: from submissions to chasing paperwork, to anticipating what a client needs after a book is sold, networking with potential editors and industry partners, the overall client career is ultimately in your hands, with agency resources at your fingertips.
