The Supplier Engineered Equipment Design Engineer will develop control system hardware requirements and guide suppliers through the design process to ensure technical and program requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development of Controls Hardware components, including oversight of the mechanical design and analysis of components, taking the design through multiple gated design reviews, and oversight of the validation testing performed by contracted suppliers of the Controls Units
- Drive coordination of effort between the design, purchasing, manufacturing engineering teams with our Controls Hardware suppliers to ensure that program needs are met through the execution of the work package to plan
- Ensure project risks (technical, cost, supply chain and schedule) are identified and managed in accordance with the risk management plan
- Engage in technical, manufacturing and supply chain issues and opportunities to enable quick decision making
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- JD/PhD

- Desire to successfully lead in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniques
- Knowledge of RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards
