Our law clerk position will work on a variety of employment-related legal and compliance matters as part of the Legal team. The position will consult regularly with various teammates and internal stakeholders. Areas of responsibility include: employment-related legal questions, employee relations matters (including investigations, terminations and dispute resolution), Fair Labor Standards Act classifications, benefits and leave of absence questions, health and safety compliance, third-party services contracts and various aspects of compliance with federal, state or local employment laws.
NOTE: This position is temporary. It is part-time from the beginning in March and transitions to 30-40 hours per week from May to August. Fully remote option available for March and April. Hybrid or in-office (Conway, Arkansas) required from May to August.
Working with in-house attorneys and others, you will be responsible for:
• Preparing information for use in advice to management on pre-employment and post-employment legal matters
• Reviewing and analyzing legal aspects of employee relations matters for advice to management
• Assisting in the investigation and resolution of employee relations complaints
• Reviewing and analyzing various third-party services contracts
• Reviewing and analyzing employment law aspects of proposed client contracts
• Analysis of various employment-related compliance matters, including responses to regulators
• Assist with dispute resolution, litigation management and document production
Do you have?
• Completion of one or two years of law school
• Tenacity for getting things accomplished, with the appropriate level and sense of urgency
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization and decision-making skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• An appreciation for detail and detail-oriented work
• Interest in leveraging technology for management of cases and projects
