In this position you will work collaboratively as part of the Recruitment and Classification team within the Human Resource Office. The temporary consultant will help meet with business managers and supervisors to map ownership lines, document them, and help ensure future classification requests are grounded in accurate, well-defined structures. This position will + Conduct job and organizational analysis + Lead efforts in work-force planning + Strategic planning with hiring managers + Special projects and advising hiring managers and staff on topics related to classification, organizational development and current/future state organizational structure. • *Minimum Qualifications** • *_**To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month, day and year for each job held.**_** Four (4) years of advanced Human Resources experience conducting job analysis/classification for positions in a wide variety of classifications and levels. • *Applicants who meet the above experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following during the interview process:** + Previous sub-delegation of classification, compensation or related human resources function + Skill in writing formal or official reports, research papers, or memorandums + Communication skills sufficient to explain sensitive, controversial decisions to employees and management staff in a clear and concise manner + Critical thinking and strategic planning skills sufficient to analyze and evaluate complex information, research and evaluate alternatives, independently make sound decisions, resolve conflicts and provide guidance on a variety of HR issues • *Preferred Qualifications** + Experience with a job evaluation system such as the Hay method + Experience working with supervisors and manager on organization development with the State of MN classification + Experience interpreting current employment laws, regulations, and policies related to classification, recruitment, selection, hiring, promotion, and/or retention of employees + Experience conducting public sector job analysis/classification + Experience conducting class studies + Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures. • *Additional Requirements** It is the policy of the Department of Children, Youth, and Families that the individual selected for this position successfully complete a background investigation prior to employment, that may include the following components: + Reference check + Criminal Background check + Fingerprinting check (MNJIS/CJIS) + Driver's License Check + Personnel File Review: all current and former public sector employees + Additional assessment may be required during the interview process AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Minnesota State Colleges and Universities is an Equal Opportunity employer/educator committed to the principles of diversity.
