The Finance Data Analyst role involves partnering with Finance, Business Operations, and Technology teams to provide high-quality analytics and business intelligence, translating financial needs into actionable data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with financial stakeholders, business operations, and technology teams on transformation initiatives by translating business and functional requirements into data requirements and data contracts
- Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions that support financial reporting, performance monitoring, and strategic decision‑making
- Support the development and ongoing facilitation of financial data quality and data governance programs
- Respond to ad hoc financial data and reporting requests, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery
- Evaluate, streamline, and optimize manual processes and legacy reporting to improve efficiency, data integrity, and scalability
- Act as a liaison between finance, business operations, and technology teams to address evolving business challenges and enable effective data solutions
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field
- Experience working with financial data and systems in a data analyst, business analyst, or similar analytical role
- Proficiency in data querying and analysis using SQL, Python, or comparable tools
- Experience developing dashboards and reports using business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar)
- Experience working with ERP systems and financial data structures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience in planning and/or project management
- Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry experience
