About the Sales Analytics and Tools Group

The Sales Analytics and Tools group is seeking a high-performing individual and team player to lead mathematical modeling and forecasting initiatives across Walmart Connect. This role offers advanced analytical products and services, focusing on forecasting sales to drive and optimize business decisions through the application of statistical and mathematical modeling. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for developing advanced models, tools, and templates to drive the planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing superior models, tools, and templates to drive the planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
• Researching, designing, developing, implementing, and supporting decision-technology models.
• Evaluating the accuracy of data, reporting, and forecasting outputs and performing adjustments to maximize business impact.
• Understanding, forecasting, and optimizing the core drivers of sales.
• Providing complete, accurate, and timely reports, including monthly company forecast reviews to the senior management team, ad-hoc and automated reporting to offer insights into sales results and performance monitoring for internal clients.
• Designing and developing advanced analytical data mining, forecasting, estimation, simulation, and/or optimization models.
• Providing technical calibration support for decision-technology models and performing data collection, data cleaning, data validation, and reporting duties for analytical structures and applications.
• Leading the evaluation and validation of statistical, forecasting, and optimization models.
• Communicating analytical results to business partners and clients.
• Providing ad-hoc reporting, advanced analysis, and support to Sales and Product stakeholders and senior management.
• Serving as a technical representative in the fields of operations research, data science, decision analytics, and applied mathematics.
• Identifying and following best practices in the field of advanced analytics.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related subject, and 3 years of experience in an analytics-related field.
• Option 2: Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related subject, and 1 year of experience in an analytics-related field.
• Option 3: 5 years of experience in analytics or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a more competitive candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning, Decision Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related subject.
• 5+ years of experience in applying advanced analytics to support business decisions, yielding measured results improvement.
• Expert-level fluency in applying advanced multivariate statistical analysis (logistic & linear regression, decision tree, cluster analysis, ANOVA, Time-Series, ARIMA) to categorize, classify, and detect relationships in large datasets.
• Proficiency in extracting and cleaning large datasets from multiple data sources.
• Mastery of analytical tools, including spreadsheet modeling, relational databases/SQL, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS), PyTorch, TensorFlow.
• Demonstrated skill in programming with expertise in SQL, R, SAS, Python, or other similar languages.
• Ability to understand complex business requirements and define key performance metrics to measure benefit and communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
• Strong, proven problem-solving skills regarding both business issues and interpersonal interactions.
