About the Role
We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to support our Bookkeeping team in executing US GAAP and legal accounting and reporting for our European entities. Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements, and local laws and regulations
- Supporting the strengthening of financial processes and controls
- Preparing monthly reconciliations for US GAAP and legal financial reporting
- Providing accounting and financial analysis to senior management and other stakeholders as needed
- Identifying and analyzing material profit and loss accounts
- Driving continuous improvement across functional areas
- Participating in local, regional, and global projects as required
- Staying up-to-date with regulatory changes in all jurisdictions where Wayfair operates
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need to have:
- Experience in international accounting and reporting requirements, including US GAAP
- A thorough understanding of financial control requirements, such as SOX 404 requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work and influence stakeholders
- Excellent documentation and communication skills, with fluency in English (written and verbal)
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable managing and analyzing large volumes of data
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working in the industry as a Senior Financial Accountant or in Big 4 audit
- Global experience and cultural awareness, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Advanced degree in Accounting or a related field
- Professional certification, such as CPA or CMA
